The ornate tracery of Gothic windows provides the inspiration for Royal Selangor's latest wine accessories.
Created in collaboration with the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, Tracery is a collection of eight items and comprises a decanter, wine funnel, pourer, bottle coaster, cork extractor, wine glasses and champagne flute.
Elaborate tracery as seen in the rose windows was one of the finest achievements of Gothic architecture. Among its outstanding features were arches pierced by trefoil and quatrefoil patterns; decorative elements that are captured and highlighted in Royal Selangor's new collection.
The wine accoutrements feature delicate patterns pierced to stunning effect, reflecting the curvilinear openwork of the 14th century. Further enhanced against the gentle sheen of antique-finish pewter, each piece is stamped with the V&A logo. |
